Face Lifting Facial Aftercare: What to Do (First 72 Hours)
By Lady Grace Beauty Spa | November 5, 2026
Fast rule for the first 72 hours: keep your skin cool and calm. That means no heat, no heavy sweating, no exfoliating acids or retinoids, and no picking. If you just came in for a facial (and maybe eyebrow threading too), this is the part that protects that fresh, lifted look.
I do Face Lifting Facials at Lady Grace Beauty Spa in Wesley Chapel, and the aftercare is simple, but it matters. The treatment is designed to create an immediate, more structured look by stimulating the tissues and focusing on areas like the jawline and cheeks. Your job for the first few days is to not undo that work with heat, sweat, harsh products, or sun. And in Florida, that last one is the sneaky one.
0 to 24 hours after your face tightening treatment: keep it cool
Right after your Face Lifting Facial, your skin can feel tight, plump, and a little warm. That is normal. What I don’t want is extra heat or friction on top of it. For the first day, I generally recommend:
Skip heat and sweat
No heavy exercise, no sauna or steam room, no hot yoga, and keep showers comfortably lukewarm. If you commute on SR 54, try not to sit in a hot car with the air off. That trapped heat counts.
Go makeup-free if you can
I prefer you avoid makeup for the first 24 hours. Your pores have been freshly worked on, and keeping the skin clean helps prevent irritation or little bumps.
Cleanse gently, once
If you need to wash your face, use a gentle cleanser and cool to lukewarm water. Pat dry. No washcloth scrubbing, no cleansing brush, no exfoliating cleanser.
Quick schedule tip for Wiregrass Ranch: if you know you have errands at The Shops at Wiregrass or plans around Wesley Chapel Town Center, try to book an early evening or weekend slot so your “no sweat, no heat” window is easier to keep.
24 to 72 hours: what keeps the lift looking clean (and not puffy)
Days two and three are where people slip up. You feel fine, you go back to your normal routine, and Florida sun and humidity do what they do. Keep it simple:
- Stay out of direct sun: wear broad-spectrum SPF daily, even in November. If you’re outside for sports, errands, or school pickup, reapply.
- Avoid sweating when you can: light activity is usually fine if your skin is calm, but don’t push into heavy cardio until about 48 to 72 hours.
- No acids, no retinoids: skip chemical exfoliants and retinol for 5 to 7 days. Your skin is still settling.
- Hands off: don’t pick at texture, don’t rub, and don’t “test” tightness by pulling at the skin.
If you notice a little puffiness, sleep slightly propped up for a night or two. It’s a small thing, but it helps. And if you’re someone who tends to run dehydrated skin wise (it surprises people), this is when gentle hydration pays off most.
The first week: protect your facial treatment results the smart way
For the rest of the week, think “support the barrier.” This is when I see the best glow and hydration stick around longer. A lot of my regulars love that their skin stays looking good beyond the first day, and the easiest way to keep that momentum is to avoid the usual troublemakers.
Avoid these for 5 to 7 days
- Retinol and prescription-strength actives (unless I specifically told you otherwise)
- Chemical exfoliants like glycolic, lactic, salicylic, and strong vitamin C that tingles
- Abrasive scrubs, cleansing brushes, and alcohol-based toners
- Hot tubs, long hot showers, steam rooms
If you booked this before an event, I’m glad you did. These are low-downtime appointments, but they still do best with a few calm days afterward. That’s why I like planning around family schedules in Wiregrass Ranch and the Wesley Chapel Town Center area. You get the results without feeling like you have to hide out.
Products I like after a non surgical face lift style facial
You don’t need a complicated shelf. You need the right categories. After a firming facial like this, I usually point people to a calm, hydrating routine that won’t sting.
Use
- Hyaluronic acid serum and or peptides for hydration and bounce
- Fragrance-free moisturizer that feels soothing, not spicy
- Mineral SPF if you’re sensitive, broad-spectrum SPF either way
Avoid
- Alcohol-heavy toners that leave you feeling tight and dry
- Scrubs and textured exfoliating pads
- At-home peels, strong masks, and “tingly” products for a full week
If I recommended a specific cleanser in your appointment, stick with it for at least a week before you rotate anything new in. I analyze your skin first, talk through your concerns, and then I match the facial to what your skin actually needs that day.
Red flags after an IPL facial or firming facial: when to call us
Mild redness that settles quickly, a warm feeling, and temporary tightness can happen after a strong facial treatment. What I don’t want you to push through is anything that looks like it’s getting worse instead of better.
Reach out to me if you have: increasing redness, swelling that doesn’t calm down by 72 hours, intense pain, fever, or any blistering. If anything feels urgent or severe, also seek medical care right away.
“Parul never pressured me to purchase anything...”
one of our long-time clients
That’s how I work. If you need product guidance, I’ll explain why I’m suggesting it and how to use it. If you don’t, I’ll tell you that too. I serve Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Lutz, New Tampa, Odessa, and Zephyrhills, so it’s easy to pop in for a low-downtime facial and get back to your day.
If you’re exploring more than one option, I keep everything under one roof. A lot of people pair facials with services like microblading, eyebrow threading, and waxing. If you’ve been searching “facials near me, ” “facial spa near me, ” “waxing near me, ” “brazilian wax near me, ” or even “microblading near me, ” you can keep it simple and handle it all in one visit.
I also share options for future visits like an acne facial, chemical peel timing (not right after this), and hydra facial planning depending on your skin goals.

A quick note if your schedule is packed
If your day is full of school runs, commutes, and errands around The Shops at Wiregrass, keep your aftercare travel-safe. Toss a gentle cleanser, a basic moisturizer, and SPF in your bag. The goal is consistency, not perfection. And if you’re unsure about anything you’re using at home, tell me what it is and I’ll help you decide if it’s a “wait a week” product.
